Grant of US Patent
30 October 2017
Haydale, the global advanced materials group, is pleased to announce that it has received notice that its patent application for the United States of America ('US') has been granted. As with Haydale's granted patents in other territories, this grant relates to a key process underlying the Company's proprietary functionalisation treatment for graphene and other nano particulates, a critical step for the commercialisation of these materials. The US patent terminates in 2032, being 21 years from the date of the application.
Commenting Ray Gibbs, CEO of Haydale, said: "I am extremely pleased that we have been granted our US patent for both graphene and other nanomaterials. This means that our plasma process is now protected by patents in our key markets of the US, UK, Europe, Japan, China and Australia. This latest award is extremely well timed as we execute our development strategy in the US, expanding our existing silicon carbide business to encompass graphene and other nanomaterials."
Trevor Rudderham, President and CEO of Haydale Technologies Inc., added: "We have a terrific team in Greer, South Carolina, with extensive knowledge of advanced materials. Following the successful fundraising, we also have the necessary capital to exploit the many growth opportunities we have in the US market for our graphene and silicon carbide portfolios. We can now do this safe in the knowledge that we have our functionalisation process patent protected in all of our key markets. This is a very exciting stage in our growth plan."
